Obituary

Eileen Bernice (McGinnis) Alley went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017 after an extended illness. Eileen was born in Orange, Texas on April 12, 1937 to Thomas Patrick and Bernice Margaret McGinnis. She met Bobby Jerald Alley (Bob) in 1952 and they were married on October 2, 1953. The couple and their two small children relocated to Kennewick, Washington in 1958 and have remained there for the past 59 years. Eileen was preceded in death by both her parents and brothers Patrick and Michael McGinnis. Eileen was a Trap Shooter's wife, going with Bob to every shoot and encouraging not only him but many of the other shooters at each event. Eileen was the "Trap Shooting Mom" to many young shooters as they started out, providing encouragement and guidance. She always had her little notebook to write down every target Bob hit or missed and why it was missed. Eileen could tell you as much or more about why a target was missed as any of the more experienced shooters at the event. Eileen was very involved in the United Methodist Church in Kennewick. Eileen held a number of positions in the United Methodist Women's organization throughout the years. Eileen was also Co-Chairwoman for the Holy Daze Bazaar, held every year. When the Tri-City Americans Hockey Team started playing in Kennewick in 1987, Eileen was immediately an avid fan. She did not miss many games in the 29 years she was a Season Ticket holder and could always be found in her seat in section "J" ringing her hockey bell. Eileen's enthusiasm for the game was contagious and those fans around her were soon engaged and have become friends. Eileen is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Margaret Eileen Morton (Duane), son Bobby Jerald Alley Jr. (Theresa), grandchildren Cortney Amanda Nicole Morton, Joshua Robert Alley, Cody James Alley, Shannon Marie Alley, bonus children Gale Lea and Kathryn Ann Hogue and bonus grandchildren Miranda Kathryn Winona Hogue and Hailie Virginia Lea Hogue. Eileen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick on Wednesday November 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to: Jr. Trapshooting, c/o Kati Hogue, 528 S. Edison Street, Kennewick, WA 99336.
