Edith M. O'Hearn, 85, of Kennewick died November 20, 2008 after a long illness. Edith was born August 3, 1923 in Underwood, Minnesota at the farm of her parents, Ole O. Aune Jr. and Bertina Nelson Aune. She was the fourth of seven children. She received her degree from the Minneapolis College of Music and performed with Minneapolis Symphony while attending there. In 1946 she moved to Kennewick, WA to teach music at Kennewick High School. She married Paul F. O'Hearn on June 7, 1947. Together they raised three children, sons Michael J. O'Hearn Pat and Christopher P. O'Hearn Robin and daughter Susan Collins Martin. Edith taught piano for many years and also served as the church organist and choir director for First Lutheran Church of Kennewick. She was a charter member of the local chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers Association and a member of the American Guild of Organists. She is survived by her Husband Paul, her three children and their spouses, her grandchildren Andrea Hunt, Lisa Davis, Benjamin Collins, Peter Collins and Sara Collins and brothers Herman Jerry, Richard "Harry" Aune Elaine. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Ruth Aune and Esther Bolsted and brothers Ole and Wilfred "Biff" Aune. A family service will be held for her internment Wednesday, November 26 and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in her memory be made to First Lutheran Church of Kennewick.
