Obituary

Edgar David Garrett, born January 7, 1930, passed away peacefully at home on October 6, 2024. "Dave" was born in Grandview, WA, and came with his family to Kennewick soon after. His parents, Edgar David Garrett and Edna Myrl Harris and his six older sisters, Anna, Opal, Ella, Cleta, Maxine and Bonnie have preceded him in death.

Dave attended Kennewick schools and has remained in contact with his classmates.

Dave married his beautiful, little special angel, Eva Christine "Chris" Hall on August 1, 1947. They have three daughters, Deborah Ruth (Garrett) Zunker, Kennewick, Paula Louise (Garrett) Bumpaous, Pasco, and Toni Lynn (Garrett) Zunker, Kennewick. Dave retired from the water department of the City of Kennewick in 1992. Chris passed away in 2003 and Dave married his sweetheart, Betty Darlene Gaskill on January 7, 2005.

Dave loved and spent many great occasions with his daughters, 8 grandchildren: Stacy, Audra, Reese, Christa, Jake, Cody, Luke and Kelci. He was also a great-grandpa to 15 and great-great-grandpa to 9 little ones. He loved them all. Dave leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews and their families whom he loved, also.

His love of horses led him to join the Benton Franklin County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and enjoyed going to State Sheriff's meets, riding in all the local parades, and watching his family ride and participate in sports. He also loved hunting in the mountains, card parties, dancing and visiting friends and family.

Dave attended the First Christian Church, loved the Lord, and knew he would be with his loved ones again in Heaven. We will miss his kindness, even when in pain; his cheery countenance and his willingness to take all our worries and troubles away. He will be missed and treasured by all.
