Ed Hummel was born on October 16, 1937, to Pete and Malonia Hummel in Trail City, South Dakota. He passed away on February 29, 2024.
He farmed with his dad until 1957 when he moved to Washington state and worked for Boeing. Shortly after he opened a Shell Service Station and then a Gulf Service Station. His Gulf Station was the Number One station in Washington, Oregon and Idaho, winning him a 1972 Ford LTD Convertible.
In 1975 he moved his family to Pasco setting up an irrigation farm. Farming was his passion. He raised alfalfa, asparagus, sweet corn and potatoes which was his favorite crop to raise. While raising potatoes, he had won several awards.
Ed was married to his wife, Marilyn, of 67 years and they had four children, Jackie, Karen, Jim and Patty.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and four children, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Trevor, and a great granddaughter, Khloe.
