Earnest J. Brisbin, 93, of Kennewick, WA, passed away on March 24, 2025, after his heart valve decided it was tired of working correctly.
Earnest was born on April 9, 1931, to Earnest and Winnie Brisbin in Butte, MT. After Earnest graduated from Boys Central in 1950, he was drafted to serve in the United States Army during the Korean War. He continued to serve in the Army Reserve until August 1961.
After completing his time in the Army, he returned to Butte and worked for the Butte mines.
In 1965, Earnest married Shirley Ostoj, a mother of 5 (Ardis, Emmett, Cheri, Mike, and Tim) in Butte. Earnest and Shirley went on to have one additional son, Cole.
Earnest loved to take his wife and children fishing near Jackson, Montana. Following the death of Shirley, Earnest moved to Richland, WA to be closer to Cole and his family.
Earnest was preceded in death by his wife (Shirley), daughter (Ardis Fellows), son (Emmett Dillon), son (Mike Brisbin), and son (Tim Brisbin). He is survived by his son (Cole Brisbin), daughter-in-law (Sherri), daughter (Cheri King), son-in-law (Bob), and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great grandchildren.
Earnest had a big heart and loved to help people, especially the many waitresses that he met over the years while eating lunch. If you want to honor Earnest, consider helping someone in need.
A private memorial will be held in the future.
