Earl L. Clark died Friday August 21, 2009, at Canyon Lakes Rehab Center in Kennewick He was born October 28, 1921, in Laporte, MN, to Lorin and Beulah Clark. Earl graduated from Laporte High School and moved to Westwood, California, where he worked in the lumber industry. Following the bombing of Pearl Harbor in December, 1941 Earl returned to Minnesota and married Bernice F. Dwight. He was a loving and devoted husband to her for 68 years. Earl served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a crew chief on the B-29 bombers in the 99th Squadron, Ninth Bomb Group, 313th Air Wing, stationed on Tinian Island in the South Pacific. He was a Radio School Instructor in Sioux Falls, South Dakota prior to being overseas. He was employed by the Crown Zellerbach Company in Port Angeles, WA, and Lebanon, OR, before moving to the Tri-Cities in 1961. Earl was one of the original support staff in starting up the Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Wallula, WA, where he worked until retirement in 1983. Earl always enjoyed fixing radios and electronics and was busy emailing family and friends on his own computer until he was 84. He and Bernice were antique dealers and active in shows for many years. Earl loved photography and especially using the new digital cameras in later years and was also a member of the American Legion Post in Lebanon, OR, for 32 years. He was a loving and caring father and will be missed dearly. He is survived by his wife Bernice and 2 daughters, Sandra Dwight of Shevlin, MN, and Carolyn Baskett of Richland, WA. Earl leaves 5 grandchildren, Ingrid Duffy New Orleans, S. Sgt Kristin Myrick USMC, Virginia, Bill Kinzig Seattle, Matthew Lugeanbeal Mississippi and Brian Lugeanbeal Missouri and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather James McBride and brother, Orville Clark. Graveside service at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 Union St. Kennewick, WA, Friday August 28, 2009, at 10 a.m.
