Lynne Edelman was born to Oscar and Marie Lindquist in Albia, Iowa on January 28, 1922. Lynne grew up in Omaha, Nebraska where she graduated from Benson High School. She learned to drive at the age 14 under the guidance of her beloved step-father, Carl Oscar Johanson. A strongly independent woman, she was still driving the car given to her by her late husband on their 40th wedding anniversary in 1987. After graduating from school, Lynne worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1944 to 1952. During this time, Lynne met the love of her life, David Edelman, and married him in 1947. They enjoyed the culture and community of the Phi Chi Medical Fraternity. They started their family in 1951 with the birth of David LeRoy Edelman, Jr. followed by Bradley Kent Edelman in 1952 and Janis Lynne Edelman in 1954. They led by example and gave their children opportunities to create successful, happy lives. In 1962, the Edelman family settled in Kennewick, Washington where David became the third partner in Tri-City Radiology. Lynne performed community service during this time, gathering medicine and medical supplies for poor underdeveloped countries. Lynne was always looking for a challenge and was eager to explore new investment opportunities, with both a lucky streak and informed decision making contributing to her success. She loved the thrill of investing in stocks, bonds, and real estate. Her real estate investments included the development of Davlyn Village and other rental properties. These endeavors provided learning experiences for Lynne and her children and helped foster a strong family work ethic. Lynne remained technologically savvy and was an early user of the internet as a source for news and information that kept her actively involved in the world and her investments. Lynne was also an active member of Money Makers Investment Club MMIC. Lynne loved to travel, whether it was boating with her husband, vacationing on the Oregon coast, flying to Europe, or exploring the United States, and made many friends during these travels. The Edelman family thoroughly enjoyed their vacations boating on the Columbia River, Lake Pond Oreille, and Puget Sound. Lynne was honored with ?Life Time Membership? at the Clover Island Yacht Club in 1992 for active participation in club business since 1964. Lynne passed away surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, admired for her integrity, respected for her dedication to all endeavors, and missed for her love and compassion. She is survived by her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Survivors include son David Edelman, Jr. wife Theresa, daughter Janis Orthmann husband Dennis, granddaughters Amy Evans husband Miles and Erin Edelman, and grandsons Louis Edelman, Drew Orthmann wife Taisha, Mark Orthmann, and Alan Orthmann. Graveside services were performed for Lynne Edelman on November 3, 2010. Proceedings were officiated by Chaplain Craig. Services were attended by the immediate family. The family would like to express their gratitude to staff at Hospice at The Chaplaincy for the care given to Lynne and the family. It is requested that memorials be donated to The Chaplaincy, 2108 W.
