Duane "Dude" Wolfe Boddy passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Kennewick, WA, at the age of 84. Dude was a beloved family man, community and business leader, dedicated volunteer and enduring athlete. Dude, the youngest son of Harry "Pat" and Tessie Boddy, was born in Marceline, MO, on April 26, 1925. Dude first worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a civil engineer, but left to spend more time with his beautiful bride, Lorraine, whom he married on August 13, 1949. He studied for a time at George Washington University but wanted to pursue a business career. He ran a grocery store in Marceline, MO but in 1955, he and Lorraine moved to Pasco, WA, to help Bob Pischel with the yearbook business. In 1978, he started his own printing business Eagle Printing in Richland, WA, a business he retained until retiring in 2000. Since retiring, Dude started another business Pacific Rim Marketing, and volunteered several hours a week at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center. Throughout Dude's career, he served as the president of at least seven different groups: Mark Twain PTA; Chairman of the Board of Riverview Methodist Church, in Pasco; Pasco High School Boosters 70; Eagle Printing; Pasco Chamber of Commerce; Richland Chamber of Commerce; and the Miss Washington State Pageant. Dude dearly loved his bride of 60 years, Lorraine, his family and friends. He also enjoyed music from the Big Band era, flying, swimming, and racquetball. He was a threat on the court and instructor to many. Dude is survived by his wife, Lorraine; sons Michael Kelly, Vernon Ana, and Brian Darcy; grandchildren, Dustin, Michelle, Jordan, and Dasha; great-grandchildren, Kaylie and Taylor; niece Patty, and nephew Sean. He is now with his parents and brother. The family would like to give special thanks to the people at Our Lady of Lourdes and the Hospice House, all of whom went above and beyond in caring for Dude and assisting the family. In particular, the family would like to thank Wendy Riddle, whose spiritual guidance and friendship is appreciated more than words can say. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to either the Riverview United Methodist Church in Pasco, WA, or to Our Lady of Lourdes Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, in Pasco, WA.
