Obituary

Douglas Leon Chambers went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 31, 2023. Doug was born at home on June 21, 1943, to David and Nova Chambers in Black Fork, Arkansas. He grew up in Caruthers, California. He moved to Washington state in 1960 and graduated from Pasco High School in 1961. One of Doug's happiest days was September 7, 1963, when he married his beloved wife, Patricia Denniston. Doug and Patricia farmed in Franklin County until he joined the Pasco Police Department in 1971.

For 33 years Doug faithfully served the Pasco community with integrity and compassion. In 2004, Captain Chambers retired from the Pasco Police Department, giving him more time to spend on his family and hobbies. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, especially to the coast to fly his kites and to Branson Missouri, serving in his church, writing theological essays, being a Master Gardener, playing Xbox, and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Doug lived out Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven."

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, David, and Nova Chambers; sister, Lela Ann; and brother, Charles. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Darrell (Anita) Chambers and Steven Chambers; daughter, Julie (Michael) Reeves; five grandchildren, Myriah Chambers, Kayla (James) Patterson, Janya (Ricky) Lechuga, Tyson (Briana) Chambers, and David (Michaela) Chambers; and eight great-grandchildren, Myranda, Kody, Madyson, Bryson, Maci, Alix, Mila, and Maks.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on February 25, 2023, at The Living Room Community Church in Kennewick, Washington.
