Dorothy F. (Olson) Kassman, 86, of Kennewick passed away March 18, 2014. Born Dorothy May Fahnholz in Arapahoe, Nebraska on August 25, 1927. She moved to Benton City at the age of 9 and retired from Hanford Environmental Health Foundation as an accountant in 1989 after 42 years of service. After retirement, she cherished her time spent sewing, doll making and spending time with family. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents Lillian and Louis Fahnholz; brother Clifford; sister Irene Atterberry; and husband Elmer Kassman. Dorothy is survived by her sister Berniece Thompson, three sons Bruce (Lynette), Gary, and Barry (Patty) Olson; daughter Jacque (Jon) Fuller; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held March 29, 2014, 3:00 p.m. at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick. The Lord saw her getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put his arms around her and whispered, 'Come with me'. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
