Dorothy P Snyder Abken, passed away on June 7, 2011. She was born in Cambridge, Idaho on October 13, 1922 to Vern and Florence Snyder. The Family moved to Kennewick in 1937. She attended Kennewick High School. Dorothy married William Abken in 1941. She and Bill farmed in the Horse Heaven Hills for 12 years before opening Cash and Carry Auto Salvage, which they owned and operated for several years. She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers; husband Bill, son Bill Jr, daughter Barbara DeWitz, granddaughter Julie Ludeman and great-granddaughter Lauren Ludeman. She is survived by son Harvey Sue Abken, Kennewick, daughter Jeri Hankel, Spokane, grandchildren, Tom Lisa DeWitz, Tim Kerri DeWitz, Kelly Abken, Kori Don Leonard, Bill Abken, Ashley Mike Abken, Jake Abken, Aimee Mike Bergeson, Eddee Chapman, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. At her request there will be no services. "Across the years I will walk with you-in deep green forest, on shores of sand and when our time on earth is through, in heaven is when you will have my hand."
