Dorn David
Hamblin
Mar 27, 1948 — Jun 9, 2024
Dorn David Hamblin
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle and friend. Dorn was born March 27, 1948, to Oscar and Winifred Hamblin in Pasco, WA.
He spent his early years in Finley, just on the outskirts of Kennewick, graduating from River View High School in 1966. During this time Dorn gained lifelong friends that he talked with weekly up until his passing.
He attended the University of Washington but ultimately graduated from Washington State University in Pullman in 1970 with a degree in Accounting.
He was a lifelong accountant, working with several firms along the way.
In 1979, he married the love of his life and final business partner, Anita. He gained four sons in the marriage; Steve, Tim, Gary, and Cary. Together they raised the four boys in the Tri-Cities. He was the consummate father, always supporting and encouraging them and others to strive for more. He was also a father figure to many of his nieces and nephews, a true altruistic person.
He will be remembered for his selfless generosity, his tireless work ethic, his friendly disposition, his endless knowledge of facts, and his devotion to the ones he loved.
He enjoyed playing fantasy football, rolling the dice on the craps table, and playing just about any card game he could bet on. He also loved cruising with his wife and taking vacations where he could see the grandchildren in their element. He loved seeing people smile.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Oscar and Winifred Hamblin, the love of his life and best friend Anita Hamblin, his sister-in-law June Russert, his son Steve Fisher, and his grandson Kade Fisher.
He is survived by his sons, Tim Fisher (Peggy), Cary Fisher (Daidra) and Gary Fisher; his other kids, John Grigg (Kristi), Jeff Boyus, Kristen Murison, and David Nyholt; 17 grandchildren, Cody, Shawna, Stephanie, Alexia, Whitney, Tyler, Ashlyn, Shelby, Brittany, William, Jackie, Levi, and Kaitlin, Brayden, Keegan, Hailey, and Trenton; brother, Gene Selby (Loretta) and family, Karen, Jenny, and Kevin, sister, Carla Nyholt (Pete) and family, David and Robyn.
Dorn was the co-owner of A N D Accounting, Inc., and was president or vice president depending on who you talked to, working side by side with Anita and June for nearly 28 years and then another 11 years with his niece Kristen. He was always a friend to his clients and sometimes a listening therapist for them.
The depth of his love for his family and friends was without measure. He was so proud of all, commiserated when necessary, helped when possible, and stood back when required. Your pain and suffering is over. Your genuine smile, wonderful disposition, and calming voice will be missed but NEVER forgotten.
Rest in peace Dorn, WE LOVE YOU. Your work here is complete.
