Obituary

Donna Lee Stark, 82, graduated to glory on June 24, 2026, after a courageous ten-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Donna was born on March 30, 1944 in Hawthorne, California, to Charles and Genevieve Cook and was the younger of their two daughters. At the age of 14, she met the love of her life, Clifford Harold Stark, at a church youth group. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance as they dated throughout high school and were married on April 20, 1962, in the spring following her graduation.

Donna began her professional career with the Social Security Administration. Although she was the youngest member of the staff, her attention to detail and strong work ethic earned the respect of her supervisor, who often asked other employees to have Donna review their reports before submission.

Donna and Cliff welcomed two sons into their family: Robert James, born in Inglewood, California, and Brian Charles, born after the family relocated to Vancouver, Washington. While raising her young boys, Donna sold Amway and Tupperware. Once both sons were in school, she began serving as the Church Administrator at Laurelwood Baptist Church in Vancouver, where she faithfully ministered for twenty years.

Following retirement, Donna and Cliff fulfilled a dream of purchasing five acres along the Tucannon River near Dayton, Washington. They enjoyed life on the river and later in town, remaining in Dayton until the progression of Alzheimer's disease precipitated a move to Kennewick, Washington where their son and daughter-in-law could help support them better.

Donna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, warm smile, infectious laughter and unwavering love for both God and her family. Her six grandchildren were among her greatest joys. Music was a lifelong passion; she sang in church choirs, played both organ and piano, and eventually led worship at her church in Dayton. She also loved roses, African violets, and baking, frequently entering flowers and baked goods in their hometown fair. Her faith was evident through her leadership of women's Bible studies, mentoring younger women and participation in mission trips to Central America.

Donna is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Clifford; her sons, Robert (Vicki) of Boise, ID, and Brian (Melanie) of Kennewick, WA; her six grandchildren; and her sister, Linda (El Jay) of Fullerton, CA.
