Donna F Rupp – Forever in our Hearts Donna Rupp was the first child of Helen and Lester Stoop. She was born on July 13, 1928, at her Aunt Mary's home in Enterprise, Oregon. As a youth, Donna spent significant time on the family farm in Enterprise. She grew very close to her grandparents James and Amy Lindley who both nurtured her and taught her life lessons that she deeply appreciated and often shared. Donna's family, younger sister Linda and parents Helen and Lester moved frequently to follow the work that Lester was doing for the Army Corps of Engineers, building dams and bridges along the Snake and Columbia Rivers. They lived in Umatilla, OR., Pasco, WA., and settled in The Dalles, OR. While in Pasco, Donna attended Longfellow Jr. High School and 1n 1946 she graduated from The Dalles High School. She then attended Oregon State University and worked for the State of Oregon's, Department of Education in Salem, OR. In 1948 Donna met Coast Guard veteran Ralph Rupp. When she first saw Ralph she would say, his handsome face took her breath away. They were married on July 4, 1949. Family life bloomed during the 1950s with the birth of their daughter Linda, followed by sons, John and then Jim. The newly-formed Rupp family moved several times to Portland, OR., Pasco, WA., Pendleton, OR., Spokane, WA and in 1958 settled in Pasco, WA., where Donna lived on West Marie St, for 56 years. Donna moved to Redmond WA. to be close to family in 2014. Her chief occupation was caring for her family however she also worked as crafts director at a local nursing home in Pasco. Donna and her family were members of St Patrick's Catholic Church, she was a charter member of the Pasco Catholic Daughters, was involved in the Children's Orthopedic Guild and she and Ralph were active in the Historical Society of German from Russia. A creative and fun person Donna had many interests, including home décor, crafts, genealogy, politics, making home brewed beer, playing bridge, camping, fishing, traveling and most importantly she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Many people were drawn to her friendly personality and enjoyed her spunky sense of humor, which she inherited from her mother and grandmother. When spending time with her you would go away thinking about the laughter, political rhetoric and the family history lessons about our famous pioneer ancestor Cashup Davis. Sadly, after an emergency surgery and brief recovery, our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away late in the evening of December 23, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, parents Lester and Helen Stoop, sister Linda Taylor and son-in-law Greg Banken. Donna leaves behind daughter Linda Banken and grandchildren Tyler, Jamie, Heather and spouses. She is also survived by her son John Rupp (Louise) and grandchildren Matthew and Brian, and step-grandchildren Amity, Jason, Aaron and spouses. In addition, she leaves her son Jim Rupp (Carol), grandchildren Cory, Heidi, step-grandchild Jonathan and spouses. Altogether, she leaves 12 great-grandchildren. Donna would often say when introduced to friends at family get-togethers, "I'm responsible for all of this." She was, and we all love her for it. She is Forever in Our Hearts. Services for Donna will be held on January 14th starting at 10AM with Holy Mass at St. Patrick's Church in Pasco WA, followed by her internment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick, WA and a memorial celebration and lunch at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home adjacent to Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
