Donna Lynn Barton passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of September 28th at Kadlec Hospital after a long battle with the aftereffects and complications of chemo.

A long-time resident in the Tri-Cities, Washington area, she left behind many friends, 4 beautiful daughters and a husband of 42 years.

Donna was born on April 9, in New Orleans, LA to parents Marvin J. Campbell and Virginia M. Janow. She was the oldest of 4 siblings with one sister, Linda Reeves and two brothers, Mike and Patrick Campbell.

Over the years, her family moved many times as her father, Marvin, was in the US Navy. This allowed for many experiences and adventures as well as challenges in her life.

In her young adult years, she met and married Jackie Bess with whom she had Tina. Later they divorced. She had met Richard Barton through Jackie as one of his fellow classmates and acquaintances at South Seattle Community College. They became fast friends.

After dating for a while, Donna married Richard Barton on March 19th, 1983. Richard adopted Tina as his own and had 3 more daughters over the years, Deanna, Vicki, and Lindsey.

They lived in Seattle for a time where Donna worked as a bookkeeper for a small company. She eventually had to leave her job as they were moving to Benton City. A car accident left her disabled and wheelchair bound for a time after leaving her unable to work. This accident happened a couple of years before Lindsey was born. She was determined to bring her 4th baby

into the world and tried anyways. Against all odds, it worked.

After moving from Seattle, they spend their life growing in Benton City, from 1990 to 2015, where they then moved to Richland.

When her health still permitted, she liked to contribute to the community by serving at the foodbank, helping to prepare food boxes for those in need. She understood herself what it was like to occasionally struggle but enjoyed helping to relieve that struggle for others in the small ways she could.

Though private, Donna always had a zest for life. She loved to get out and have fun. Whether it be spending time dancing, going to movies or shows or having a nice dinner with her husband, or spending her time playing games and chatting with her friends, she was always known for her sassy but caring, fun loving attitude.

She always made a point to try to get the family together for any reason she had; a hard thing to do with everyone's busy lives. Holidays were always a treat with her around to bring everyone together to spend time and enjoy a good meal.

We will always appreciate everything you did and the love that you had for us. You were the glue for our family. Without you, our family feels a little smaller and more empty. Without you, we will have to learn to come together on our own. However, we will. Today we come together to honor your legacy. Tomorrow we will look forward to seeing you again in the eternities.

We love you now and forever.

There are Angels God puts on this Earth

Who care for us and guide us.

You can feel their love and gentleness

As they walk through life beside us.

They do great things for us every day

They whisper in our ears,

They even hold us in their hearts

When we are filled with all our fears.

They are always there to give a hug

And try to make us smile.

They treat us with respect and love,

They treat us like their child.

God blessed me with an Angel,

I'm proud to call my own.

She's been with me throughout my life,

Been with me as I've grown.

She's guided me the best she can,

She's taught me like no other,

And I'm thankful I'm the lucky one

Who get's to call her Mother.
