Donald J. Strifert, 86 of Pasco, passed away September 30, 2008 in Kennewick. Born on August 1, 1922 to Henry & Pearl Bergeson Strifert in Stewartville, Minnesota, moved to Fargo, North Dakota at an early age but grew up in Minnesota. On October 21, 1945 he married Marian Arnston in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. They farmed in Minnesota for a time and in 1958 they moved to the Tri-Cities. He worked on the Hanford Project in several jobs & during layoffs he worked for local farmers and did carpentry work to support his family. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and rock hound. He loved watching his grandchildren's sports events and was a Mariner's and Seahawks fan. Don was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Master in Pasco. He is survived by his wife Marian Strifert of Pasco; children Rex Lou, Ric Liz, & Donna Mike Beck, all of Tri-Cities; grandchildren Nicole, Curt Megan, Krystal, April Strifert, Wessley Beck & Dawn Jason Wilson; great grandchildren Bryson & Cailin Strifert; niece Joyce Arntson of Pasco; brother-in-law Vernon Lois Arntson of Sabin, MN; sister-in-law Marquitta Arntson of MN; and several nieces and nephews in Minnesota. Graveside Services will be Thursday, October 2, 2008, 12:00pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 10th & Union Street in Kennewick. A Celebration of life Service will take place at Lutheran Church of the Master Rd 48 & Court Street following the graveside at 1:30pm In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice, Lutheran Social Services or the Lutheran Church of the Master Building Fund.
