Surrounded by family Donald Joseph Shelby went home to be with Jesus April 8, 2026, which if she was still with us would have been his Mother's 110th birthday. He was 87 years old.

Over the course of Don's life he touched MANY lives in very positive ways. He was loved by MANY. He was a positive, glass half-full, silver lining person. He had a smile for everyone. He enjoyed people and life. Most of all he loved Jesus.

He was born to Joseph Osborne (7/25/15-12/29/73) and Pearl Evelyn (4/8/16-4/6/2011) Shelby on Oct 6, 1938 in Independence, MO. While there his brother, Ronald Osborne Shelby, was born Nov 6, 1941. They lived in Independence until 1944 when they moved to Richland, WA. Sometime in 1950 he gave his heart to Jesus, which was a growing relationship for the rest of his life. They lived there until 1952 when they moved to Blue Springs, MO. They moved back to Richland in 1955. Don graduated from Columbia H.S. in 1956 and went into the Army in September of 1956. He was the last of the brown boot units. He did boot camp at Ft. Carson. He met Janice Kay Shannon at Richland Baptist Church (RBC) an they were married. They were stationed at Ft Hood in TX. Don went to helicopter maintenance school in VA during this time. Cynthia Lee was born to them February 28, 1959 in Killeen, TX. He was honorably discharged from Ft. Carson, CO later that year, and they moved back to Richland. They moved to Fair Oaks and Devin Jay was born June 7, 1963. They moved back to Richland in 1965 where the marriage ended. Don married Victoria (Mackenzie) Shelt and they moved to the Seattle area and Jaylene Osborne Shelby was born to them on February 3, 1985. After their marriage ended Don attended Eastlake Foursquare. Sometime during 1986 Don became filled with the Holy Spirit and his life changed dramatically. Eastlake Foursquare is where he met Jean Watkinson; they were married May 9, 1987. They lived in Auburn, Federal Way and Brown's Point before moving back to the Tri-Cities in 2008 to live in their motor home at Horn Rapids and then to Pasco until present.

During Don's life he had many occupations: two of significance were co-owner in Shelby Reinforced Plastics (SRP) and Associate Pastor at Northwest Foursquare in Federal Way. He had many interests, hobbies, and ministry involvements, but in his later years his passion was Jesus and Jean.
