Donald "Don" Andrew Gegen, age 94, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Don was born in Wichita, Kansas on July 18, 1929. He met his wife, Gerry, at a young age. They were fortunate to have 74 years together, raising 5 children. Don spent his youth playing baseball, bowling, and cheerleading. His love for sports, especially the Seattle Mariners, continued throughout his life and was passed on to his children and grandchildren. Don was an accountant in the cattle industry until he started his own bookkeeping business in the 1970s. When he wasn't working, Don enjoyed taking his family on vacation to Table Rock Lake and Lake Anthony, where his mother had a cabin.

Don loved hunting, fishing, and ranching. He raised cattle, exotic pheasants, chickens, rabbits, racing pigeons, and attempted goats. Throughout his entire life, Don was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. His sense of humor prevailed even during difficult times. He will always be remembered and forever missed.

Don is preceded in death by his wife, Gerry; son, Brad Gegen; parents, Fred and Rose Gegen; brother, Frederick Gegen; and sisters, Edith and Loretta. He is survived by children, Karen (Scott) Bryant of Polo, MO; Kathy Gegen of Maricopa, AZ; Dave (Tammy) Gegen of Cushing, OK; Kathy (Mark) Mokler of Kennewick, WA; and Fred (Leslie) Gegen of Missouri City, TX; sister, Phyllis Smith of AR; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jim, Adam, Joshua, Sara, Matt, Alex, Jessica, Tim, Katie, Mandy, and Ryan; 15 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sean, Sara, Emily, Kevin, Kierlynn, Grady, Emmett, Kaelynn, Ian, Beau, Luke, Aiden, Addison, and Easton.

A visitation and rosary will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at Mueller's Desert Lawn Memorial Park from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
