Obituary

On May 16, 2025 Dennis L. Pedersen passed away with loved ones around him at the age of 71 from pancreatic cancer. He was born on June 15, 1953, in Sunnyside, WA to Benard and Dorothy Pedersen. He grew up on a dairy farm in Sunnyside, WA with his two sisters Susie and Denise.

Dennis graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1971. He later continued his education at Washington State University graduating from the College of Pharmacy in 1976. He worked as a pharmacist for 39 years with many years at ShopKo in Kennewick.

Dennis was married to his wife, Marian, on September 27, 1986. They later had two loving daughters, Kathryn and Sarah, who they raised in Kennewick, WA.

Dennis had a love of Disney. Dennis and Marian had their honeymoon in Disneyland and visited the park many times throughout their lives. He passed his love of Disney down to his family.

Dennis had a deep love for gardening. As soon as the weather was nice out, he was outside in his yard prepping for the gardening season. His neighbors and family always got an abundance of fruits and vegetables during the summer months.

Dennis had a love for his family dogs, Nala and Sally, and walked them daily. They were always helping Dennis in his garden, as well.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Marian Pedersen; daughters Kathryn (Thomas) Carnevale and Sarah (Drew) Sonderland; granddaughters Violet, Mary, and another grandbaby on the way; sisters Susie Pedersen (Don) and Denise (David) Barthel. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Viewing is from 5pm to 8pm on May 29, 2025 with rosary at 6pm. Both will be held at Mueller's Funeral Home located at 1401 S. Union, Kennewick, WA.

A memorial service for Dennis is scheduled for May 31, 2025 at 9am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church located at 506 S. Garfield St, Kennewick, WA.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Research Foundation at 504 RXR Plaza, Uniondale, NY 11556.
