The love of our lives, Dennis Gunderson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 7, 2011. He was the best son, husband, and father one can imagine. He was born in Hines, Oregon on May 8, 1953 to Theodore and Delora Gunderson. He attended Oregon State University, graduating with a Construction Management degree in 1975. He was a lifelong fan of the Beavers. Dennis met his wife, Teddi, at church in 1979, and they married in 1981. There began a wonderful and loving partnership of 30 years. Traveling always brought them great pleasure, along with many church friendships and activities, especially their weekly care group. Shantelle arrived in 1984, and Zane in 1987 completing their family and bringing untold joy. Memories created with our happy family will carry us through. We so enjoyed our family trips to California, Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, Oregon Coast, and many camping, cruising, and motorcycle adventures. Attending our kids' sporting events was also a huge highlight. It was his privilege to have provided an amazing life of fun for his family. His deep love of God and his willingness to serve, brought enjoyment through singing in the church choir and many leadership positions at the Cathedral, and South Hills Church. For 30 years he totally enjoyed playing 5:00 a.m. basketball at Pasco High School. His friends at work, Washington River Protection Solutions, meant a lot to him, as well. He was preceded in death by his father Theodore Gunderson. His survivors include wife, Teddi Gunderson; children, Shantelle Gillis Matt, Zane Gunderson, Carly Gunderson and grandson Hunter Hasse; mom, Delora Harkey; siblings, Marcia Kinder and Dan Gunderson; in-laws Dick and Bev Schmidt, and Traci Zubka. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 1:00 pm at South Hills Church.
