Delbert Bud Arthur Wallace Bud departed this earth on August 24, 2010 with his wife tenderly caring for him. He was born in Trail, B.C. Canada to Allan Edgar and Minnie Alma Foster Wallace on April 15, 1934. Bud moved with his parents and sister when he was four to Spokane. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp 1951-1954 during the Korean War, was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart for service to his country. He was a Marine to the end and shared his pride with many. While living in Soap Lake, Bud meets and marries Joanne Bessett on July 18, 1955; they recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Together they raised 6 children moving throughout the U.S. Bud spent most of his career working for Bechtel, retiring in 2000. Their family grew to consist of 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren in no time. During his time with us, Bud touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. Bud will be missed by his wife, Joanne, and 5 children, Catherine Chet Hammack, Patricia Barrett, Scott Shannon Wallace, Melinda Nelson Sanchez, and Michael Wallace. Grandchildren: Tanya Mike Zaugg, Lance and Bob Hammack; Justin, Jeremy Cera, Lindy, Jacob Ashley, and Jared Barrett; Chaston Wallace; Shelby and Scotty Wallace; Brandon and Brooke Sanchez; and Phallon and Drake Wallace. Great Grandchildren: Sage, Tallon, and Brennan Zaugg; Belle, Bree and Tristan Hammack; Franki Hammack; Kailynn, Kelsey, McKayla, Caydince, Paige, Keilani, Deyana Barrett; and Zoey Wallace. His sister, Doreen Ben Curtis, Spokane; father-in-law, Norman Bessett, Richland; and numerous other family members. Bud was greeted in heaven by his parents, mother-in-law Margret Bessett, son Bruce Wallace, and his great-grandson Aidan Zaugg, along with many other loved ones. He will be deeply missed by those who saw him as their first love, their very own hero, their confidant, their rock. His brilliant quick wit, laugh, smile, and warm embrace made everyone feel loved and welcome. He was everything to those close to him; he was their stars and the moon. Although he lived on borrowed time, it was not long enough for us. Our hearts ache for him, but we know he is tending his garden and fishing away his days with our other angels; until we meet again in heaven.
