David P. Williams, 87, passed away on March 20, 2009 after a short illness. Born in Stockton, California, to David Williams and Grace McFadden he spent his early years traveling to construction sites with this father and three sisters after the death of his mother when he was just 6 months of age. During WWII David served in the Army Air Force and as a 1st Lt, flew P-47s with the 22nd Fighter Squadron, 35th Fighter Group. He received the American Theater Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Meritorious Service Unit Award and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal. Returning home after WWII he opened a foreign car service repair service in Seattle, Washington. Upon retirement he spent several years living and sailing around the Cayman Islands. He returned to Kennewick, Washington in 2000 to be closer to family, where he continued his love of gardening until his death. He is survived by his sister Mary Magula, of Wenatchee, WA and three sons David, Carl and Scott Williams and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Doris Henderson and Carol Guild. Graveside inurnment services with military honors will be held Friday, April 3, 2009, 1pm, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 10th & Union Street in Kennewick.
