David "Dave" Allen Thompson, 76 of Kennewick, Washington, passed away Friday, July 21st, 2017 with his loved ones by his side. Dave was born January 29th, 1941 in Boise, Idaho to Harry and Pauline Thompson. He graduated from Kennewick High School in 1959. He was a longtime union electrician with the IBEW, he was also employed for many years in the nuclear power industry. Dave married his high school sweetheart, the former Sharilee Marie Schmitt, and they enjoyed 31 years of marriage before her passing in 1991. Dave was a car and boat enthusiast his whole life and could often be found up to his elbows in an engine. He was a hard worker for himself and others was always there to help out his friends. Dave always had a project going from boats to yards to cars. Survivors include daughter Susan Sales of California, two grandchildren Rachel and Troy, and longtime companion Obie Brochu. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 27th, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick. A reception will be held following the service.
