David Allen Schlotman, 80, of the Tri-Cities, WA passed away September 21, 2026, at his home with his family by his side.

David was born April 8, 1946, in Walthill, Nebraska, to Clarence and Annette (Richards) Schlotman. Early in his life, the family moved to Washington state, where he grew up the eldest of 3 brothers and 1 sister. He loved to tell stories of growing up and working on the farm with his family. His role as the eldest and shepherd of the family continued throughout his life. He so enjoyed caring for his family and so many friends that he considered family.

David spent his working life mostly as a Journeyman Welder in maintenance, fabricating, building, and designing both as a long-time employee and as a business owner. He was a talented artist and had a mind for creating that continued after retirement and produced an abundance of welded art and many beautiful hand-painted carvings.

He is survived by his Wife Mardell, with whom he shared many hunting adventures around the globe. David and Mardell enjoyed being involved with their blended family. They both enjoyed spending time attending and cheering on family and friends in whatever activities and milestones were happening.

David will be greatly missed by his wife Mardell and surviving family including: Sister Joyce (Harlan) Harrington and their family in Chelan WA; Son Anthony (Nicole) Schlotman and his children and grandchildren (Cameron, Jessica, Cierah, Bennie, Brandon, Emma and Cameron Jr.); Son Jeff (Lisa) Eisen their children and grandchildren (Britny, Travis, Brandon, Mathew, Melissa, Adrian, Adam, and Tristin); Daughter Lisa (Vince) Eilertsen and children and grandchildren (Lindsey, Madelyn, Jordan, Kaiden, and Preston).

Graveside services will be held 11:00 am on October 2, 2026, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park 1401 S Union St., Kennewick, WA 99338.
