Obituary

David Harper Bragg, beloved father, husband, and brother passed away on August 24, 2008 after a courageous battle with failing health. He was born on January 10, 1932 in Venus, Nebraska to Burl Harper Bragg Jr., and Elizabeth Evelyn Jeffrey. He was the first born of three children with sister, Florence and brother, Harry later joining the family. At the age of five he lost his father, forcing a greater responsibility upon him as the eldest child and big brother. He and his siblings were raised on a farm, tending cattle and raising corn and other crops. It was on the farm that he developed a strong work ethic that he maintained throughout his life. He graduated from Creighton High School in 1949. At the age of seventeen, he moved away from Nebraska and worked briefly in Idaho before coming to Pasco, where he began working as a truck driver for United Buckingham while also serving in the National Guard. On June 30, 1952, he married Maxine Carlson to whom were born two children, Debbie and David. He continued living in the Tri-Cities area and over the years worked for Silver Wheel Freight Lines, West Coast Paper, and Boeing before retiring. He was a hard-working, honest and humble man who dearly loved his family. He will be sorely missed, although we know he is in the presence of loved ones who have already passed on. Surviving family members include daughter, Debbie Bragg; son, David Bragg Adriana; his three precious granddaughters, Vanessa, Nicole, and Lexi; step-daughter, Connie Gilman; step-son, Joe Grebeldinger; brother, Harry Bragg Cindy; sister, Florence Pottorff Ken, Maxine Kimber the mother of his two children and several nephews and nieces. David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Burl Harper Bragg Jr., and Elizabeth Evelyn Jeffrey Bragg, and by his second wife Jackie Bragg. His family wishes to express their gratitude for his many caregivers including Dr. Kevin Taylor, Dr. Najera, Liliana Tubic and special family friends Joyce McDonald and Dee "Charlie" Durham. Viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday August 28th and 29th from 3 pm to 8 pm at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home located at 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 30th at 10 am, also at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, followed by graveside services.
