Kennewick, Washington: Daryl Burnett age 75 of Kennewick, Washington went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2024. He was born in Lynwood, California on February 17, 1949, to Leonard and Eileen Burnett. He grew up in Southern California attending Downey High School and California State College, Fullerton. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York.
Daryl loved the Lord Jesus and was active in his church often teaching Bible studies and sharing Bible history. He accepted the Lord as his Savior in 1967 when he was 18 years old at the church where he met his wife, Gayle. They were married on January 23, 1971.
Daryl moved with his family to Kennewick in 1980 to work at the Hanford N Reactor for UNC Nuclear Industries. Over the years, he put his Mechanical Engineering degree to use in a variety of fields working at IBP Beef, Mercer Ranch, and running his own company HMB Construction. He retired in 2020 as a Project Manager from Intermech, Inc. after working for 15 years on the Vit plant.
Daryl enjoyed spending time with his family, taking camping trips, road trips visiting family, and taking cruises with his wife Gayle. Some of his favorite cruises were to New Zealand, Alaska, Hawaii and a recent river trip along the Rhine River.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Gayle Burnett, son Matthew Burnett (Seattle, WA), daughter Mary Burnett (Kennewick, WA). Also, his grandchildren Antonio Burnett-Camacho, Nathaniel Burnett, Jackson Burnett, and William Burnett, sibling Steve Burnett (Valerie) (Pasco, WA) and nephew Seth Burnett (Pasco). He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Eileen Burnett and brother Leonard Charles Burnett (Mountain View, WY).
A celebration of his life will be held May 24, 2024, at 11:30 am in downtown Kennewick at the Life Tributes Cremation Center, 314 W First Ave, Kennewick, WA.
