Darwin Ray Roberts was born on May 25, 1940 in Burwell, Nebraska to Ray William Roberts and Eva Fern (McVay) Roberts. The family moved to the Tri-Cities in April 1949. Darwin graduated from Riverview High School in 1958. Darwin served in the Navy from June 25, 1958 to January 10, 1962. Was married to Marilyn Tinsley from March 18, 1959 to August 1961. Then married Alberta (Rex) Thompson on January 12, 1963. Dar was a member of the IBEW Local #112, where he also taught electrician apprentices for 16 years. He retired in August 2002 from Battelle as a Maintenance Electrician. Dar was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Dar enjoyed helping his children and friends with different projects. he liked going fishing; playing with his dog, Partner; playing cards; games on the computer and enjoyed being retired, but missed being with friends from work. Darwin was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Alberta. He is survived by his Children: Rick (Twila) Roberts, Sheila (David) Kirk and Sheryl (Bobby) Kinsey and a step-son, Steven Thompson, his sister Wilma (Lee) Smith of Kennewick; four grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 11:30 – 1:30 at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home with a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Desert Lawn Memorial Park; both located at 1401 S Union Avenue, Kennewick.
