Darlene Rose Flack Amend

Born June 6th, 1932 in Lyman, Nebraska to parents Gottleb and Mary Flack. Darlene was the second youngest of nine children. She attended school in Lyman and Gering, NE.

Darlene married the love of her life, Robert E. Amend, on March 16th, 1951 in Gering, NE. From that union of love, two sons were born; Robin and Richard. They lived in Scottsbluff, NE until 1956. They moved to Kennewick when Robert went to work for General Electric and Battelle N.W. They raised their family and lived in bliss until Robert passed away in 1987.

Darlene was a homemaker. She loved a well-kept home and a manicured yard. She also did Power of Attorney work for good friends and was a Legal Guardian for a neighbor for 15 years.

She was a member of the Kennewick First Christian Church. She served on various committees and was the treasurer for the ladies' group for 10 years. Darlene was instrumental in the church's craft and bazaar sales. Her favorite place to serve was helping in the kitchen with her good friends. She was a strong pillar for the church and loved being involved.

Darlene loved being around people, she liked to joke and have a good time. She also stood up for what she believed in and thought was right. No one had to guess what she thought about a certain issue, she made that clear.

The most important thing in life to Darlene was to be a good wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and she relished that role, especially being a grandma. She would help anyone with anything.

She loved family dinners, watching and bragging about her grandkids and great grandkids and enjoying life with her family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her son Robin, grandchildren Joseph (Jamie) and Christa (David), great-grandchildren, Te'Shaun, Akiah, Travauhn, Londynn, Alden and TaLeia. Along with numerous nieces and nephews and Terri Amend, wife of Richard.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert and beloved son Richard.
