Obituary

Daphne Valerie Rothfork, known affectionately as Daph, passed away on July

28, 2025, at the age of 71 in her hometown of Kennewick, WA. Born on

February 28, 1954, in Kennewick, she lived a life marked by love for her

family and dedication to her friends.

Daphne graduated from Kennewick High School and furthered her education at

Columbia Basin College. She spent her career meticulously managing accounts

as a bookkeeper, a role that reflected her organized and diligent nature.

After retiring from a rewarding 20-year tenure at Hawthorne Court

retirement community, she continued to touch lives through her part-time

role at Twin City Foods.

Beyond her professional life, Daphne was a beloved figure in her community.

She was known for her generosity, often delivering birthday cupcakes to

Twin City Foods' employees long after her second retirement. She also

cherished the time spent with her friends, whether it was over early

dinners at Twigs, monthly breakfast outings, or a spirited game of cards.

Daphne's personal joys included daily walks of four to five miles,

assembling puzzles during the chilly winter months, and cultivating her

garden and yard when summer rolled around. These hobbies not only brought

her immense pleasure but also kept her connected to the cycles of nature

and the outdoors.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Charlene Harper

(Mike); grandsons Ashton and Payton Appleby, Quinton Harper, Gavin Conaster

(Janae) and Kyleigh Conaster; siblings Sheila Sumner, Donald Boggan

(Marilyn), Harry Rothfork (Cindy), Jonathan Butcher, Carol Perkins, and

James (Jimmy) Butcher; and first and second generation nieces and nephews

who referred to her as Aunt Daph. She was preceded in death by her parents,

John Rothfork and Dorothy Davis-Rothfork.
