Obituary

In Loving Memory of Daniel Henry Hill Senior,

Devoted father, grandfather and friend to many. Born June 7th 1948 to William and Hallie Hill in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 56 dedicated years Christy Hill, his eldest Daughter Cheri Callahan and her husband Matthew, second daughter Marcena Waters and her husband Jim, Son Daniel Henry Junior, and Ronnie Simms, as well as his older sister Billie Jean, older brother Glenwood, and younger sister Darlene. His grandchildren of 11, great grandchildren of seven.

In His life he was known as a master carpenter, a navy veteran, a mountain man, a sportsman and family man. From the battle ships of Vietnam, to the rendezvous with Royal Rangers, he brought a powerful spirit and exceptional faith in the lord wherever he went. He exemplified a strong moral character, always there with an unwavering hand of support whenever needed. Daniel knew the value of hard work and skilled leadership. If you needed something done, he was your guy, regardless the task he was Mr. fixit.

Many knew him as a sportsman, biggest fan of hunting, fishing, shooting and all things outdoors. He worked hard to play hard. During his times with the Royal Rangers, he would excel in leather and beadworks. In 1975, Daniel lost his right eye to water skiing, no truer dedication to sport. He was a tarheal, and he was known as Big Wind.

Daniel Passed peacefully at rest in his home with his loving Wife Christy by his side.

He is surely reunited with his parents Bill and Hallie and siblings, Jim, Linda, and Jackie as well as family and friends who went forth with our Heavenly Father before him. He will truly be missed by everyone, especially his wife Christy. May he rest in peace eternally behind the pearly gates.
