Obituary

Daniel King Bowman, 91, of Kennewick, WA, passed away on April 15,2023.

He was born in Enterprise, OR on March 11, 1932, son of the late Asie and

Minnie Bowman. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edna. He was preceded

in death by daughter, Dian Earl Bowman, and son, Daniel King Bowman II.  Dan

came from a very large family including 2 brothers (Homer, Asie Jr.), 6

sisters (Alice, Mary Ileta, Marie, Zelma, Ila Rose "Billie", Dori), 6

half-sisters (Dorthea, Linda, Millie, Shirley, LeVeda, and Carol Ann), one

half-brother Jerry Wayne, and one step brother Donald Eagle.

Dan spent some of his early life in Santa Monica, CA. He attended middle

school and high school in Echo, OR. He met Edna through his sister Billie.

They built their first home in Wishram, WA, where Dan worked building many

of the dams in the greater NW.  He always enjoyed the outdoors hunting and

hiking.  Once retired Dan and Edna hiked the entirety of the Pacific Crest

Trail in Washington.

Dan was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed building and creating many

projects. He was always trying to make things more usable and functional. He

was a handyman at heart and worked on rentals in his retirement. He was a

collector of everything. A lot of his neighbors called his collection an

assortment. If they needed something they could find it. He was always there

to help anyone involved in a project.

Dan and Edna had a bountiful garden every year. Together they had an oasis

in their backyard. They loved spending time together on a swing on their

patio admiring the fruits of their labors.

Every stranger was a friend Dan just hadn't met yet. He loved people,

talking and telling stories. He was very family oriented and they were

always his top priority.  Many gatherings were held at their house, infusing

friends and family.

Dan always had a bit of mischievous twinkle in his eye. He often had a story

to go along with it. He loved eating, especially pie and cookies. He lived a

full and wonderful life. He will be missed by all who knew him.

We will celebrate Dan's life with a wiener roast, a tradition he loved, at

he and Edna's home on July 22nd, 2023 at 1pm
