Obituary

Dan Orr, loving grandfather, beloved father and devoted husband, passed away on June 20, 2013. Dan was born in Polson, Montana in 1951 and later moved to Sunnyside, Washington when he was a young boy. While in Sunnyside, Dan helped his parents run the Oasis Motel, which was the site of many of his tall tales. Dan graduated from Sunnyside High School and later studied at Washington State University before graduating from Central Washington University with a B.A. in Business Administration. Dan later received a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Gonzaga University, which explains his lifelong misfortune with NCAA brackets. Dan was a long-suffering Cougar fan who later learned to accept certain realties. Because he sent so many of his kids (and his money) to the University of Washington, he ultimately saw the light and finally started rooting for the Huskies. Dan spent over 30 years in the banking industry in Seattle, Washington, Portland, Oregon and the Tri-Cities. Dan was an amazing grandpa, father, and husband. Dan loved Eastern Washington and being on the Columbia River with his family. He loved the outdoors and loved Hawaii, especially Waikoloa on the Big Island. Dan was a savant with an open flame and a cut of meat. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Janell Orr, his son, Deric Orr, his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Tanya Keating, and his daughter and son-in-law Lindsay and Mark Gray. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jacob Gray, Asher Gray and Ella Keating and great friends, Dan Raap and Bruce Nelson. Dan is preceded in death by his father John Orr, his mother Doris Orr, and his brother Timothy Orr. Dan's family would like to make a point to thank the nurses at Kadlec and the University of Washington for their wonderful care of Dan during his treatment. There will be no funeral at Dan's request.
