Obituary

Danny Lee O'Brien passed away peacefully in his sleep at home December 14th, 2014. He was born December 1st, 1951 to Larry and Norma (Freeman) O'Brien in Belleville, Kansas. Dan was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother-in-law Jim Herring and father-in-law Jim Smith. Dan is survived by Linda (Smith), his wife of 39 years. Between them, they had 4 children, Shauna Wood (Chris), Jason Moody (Tammy), Steven Moody (Angel) and Brad O'Brien (Melanie). He had 9 grand-children and 2 great grand-children. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry O'Brien (Pam), Nancee Herring, Sherry March (Harry) and Shawn O'Brien (Sherry) and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nephews. Dan graduated from Pasco High in 1970 and later moved to Burbank. He worked at Boise Cascade Paper Mill working as a paper maker for 35 plus years. Dan was known for his sense of humor and never ending jokes. Some would question whether his jokes were age appropriate, but those close to him knew that was just Dan. You couldn't be around him without shaking your head a time or two and being filled with laughter. He enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and could host a mean fish fry. He loved cooking for others and always cooked for an army. Fish on Dan! The family will have a private memorial in the Spring.
