Dale Warren Skinner, of Wallula, WA passed away at age 90 on February 4, 2026 after a lengthy battle with various cancers. Dale was born in Gordon, NE on January 26, 1936. He was one of the last true master carpenters of his generation. He began his career at age 17 working at a lumberyard in Paxton, NE. Throughout the years he built many homes and established the Skinner Construction Company in 1970 and retired in 2001. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Burbank, WA and served as a Trustee.

Dale is survived by his wife, Mary (Sullivan); his children Nancy Skinner (Wallula, WA), Douglas Skinner (Erie, PA), David (Lori) Skinner (Wallula, WA), and Tamara (Steven) Hey (Columbus, NE); his granddaughters Amber, Ashlee, Ashley, Kori and Katelyn; great grandsons Rowan, Graysen, and Zayden; his sister Jean Rae (Harvey) Moore (Kennewick, WA), and numerous nephews and nieces. He was proceeded in death by grandparents, Warren and Mary Robb; mother, Fae J. Thrun; sisters, Patty Lo Skinner and Nellie Marie Mertz; brother, Robbie Hiner; and daughter, Teresa Hornberger.

Dale was very creative and was always open to learning new things. He was a former Aviator, woodworker, collected miniature classic cars, made and flew kites, cabinet maker, loved guitars, horses, the western frontier, Native American history and he was very keen.

Dale loved the Lord and his favorite verse was John 3:17, "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 10:30am

at the First Baptist Church of Burbank, 723 W. Humorist Rd, Burbank, WA. Services to be conducted by Pastor Davy Costa, followed by a reception.
