D. Morris Smith was born on December 10, 1942, in Chickasha, OK to Dillon and Helen Smith. His family moved to Seattle, Washington when he was 12 years old. He graduated from Highline High School in 1960, and then went on to graduate from the University of Washington. He met his wife, Sandra Pierce, at church and they were married on May 2, 1964, in Richland, WA.

He started in sales working for Hallmark Cards and Texico, he then was an insurance adjuster for a time and then in 1978, moved his family to Kennewick, WA to work as a manager of a medical homecare company. He ended his career as a grocery store manager. He enjoyed his retirement selling on eBay and Amazon. He loved spending time on his computer.

Morris was a devoted husband and father of two, grandfather of three and great grandfather of two. His family was the most important thing to him. He was truly a family man as well as a committed Church member where he served as a Sunday school teacher and Deacon for many years. He also enjoyed watching the Mariners, Seahawks and his beloved Huskies. Morris died surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Dillon Smith, his mother, Helen Smith and his sister, Linda Bower. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandy Smith, his daughter Becky Smith married to Terry and son Jeffrey Smith married to Jennifer, his granddaughter Brittnee Lommers, married to Sheldon, grandson Kevin Smith, granddaughter Andie Smith and great grandchildren Beau and Lainey.
