Conrad Layne Corneliuson, known as Layne to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in Renton, Washington, due to kidney failure. He was born on October 29, 1962, in Richland, Washington to the late Arnold and Arlene Corneliuson.

Layne is survived by his wife Julie Corneliuson, daughter Kate, sister, Tobie Webb (husband Kevin), nephews, Joe Gwinn (children Clayton, Ashleigh, Aoife), Jeremy Gwinn (wife Erin, children Isaac, Derrick, Russell) and niece Brandi Gwinn. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends

Layne was a proud graduate of Kennewick High School and went on to further his education at Columbia Basin College. He started working at the SRO theater chain in high school and made many friends. There are many stories of the theater and drive in years. He had a brief stint in Walla Walla and eventually he transferred to Seattle to work at the Uptown Theater. After leaving SRO/Regal, Layne worked at U-Park in Seattle. He then embraced the rewarding role of a stay-at-home dad, a decision that reflected his deep commitment to family and especially to Kate, who was his pride and joy. We knew that he would excel in that role as he was a beloved uncle to his nephews and niece, in fact he was just called 'Uncle'.

He loved sports. He bowled in youth and adult leagues, played touch football with his friends, golfed and played softball, where he met his wife Julie. He enjoyed going to watch Kate play sports and even coached her T-Ball team one year. He enjoyed listening to the WSU Cougar football and the Seattle Mariner games on his transistor radio. He couldn't turn down a card game; Pinochle, Nine Holes of Golf and Shanghai were favorites. Layne made two trips to Europe and travelled through many countries on the train. He was a member of the Lewis and Clark Trail Alliance. He was the co-editor of the Washington State newsletter for several years...

As we say farewell to Conrad Layne Corneliuson, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and deeply cherished. His legacy of humor, kindness, and love will continue to inspire those he left behind. Layne's story does not end here; it lives on in the hearts and memories of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey.

Viewing will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street in Kennewick.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home with internment to follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Kennewick.
