Connie Jayne Buchanan, 65, passed away on January 25, 2006. Connie was born at home to William and Muriel Gulley on September 1, 1940 in Morrill, Nebraska. She moved to Richland, Washington from Morrill in 1942. She met George W. Buchanan on June 15, 1958, was married to him on the 28th of that same month and remained faithfully married to him for 47 years. She was very supportive to her husband as he spent 24 years in the military. While George was in Vietnam, Connie raised their six children. She was unselfish and she treated her children as friends. Connie worked at Kadlec Medical Center as a Supply Tech, where she was known as ?Big Bird.? She was a patient and tolerant woman who could easily make people laugh. She is survived by her husband, George, her daughter Valerie Peiffer, Sons Gary Buchanan, Mark Buchanan and David Buchanan, daughters Cindy Wellenbrock and Heidi Pena, sisters Kay Servance and Barbara and Husband Lowell Engbretson, Sister-in-law Sara Mitchell, Brother-in-law Dan Buchanan and friends Karen Brown and Barbara Grant. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Mueller?s Chapel of the Falls Funeral Home in Kennewick, Washington. Public viewing will be held from 3-8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Mueller?s Chapel of the Falls.
