Cleo Violet Bretz left this earth on January 7, 2011 approaching her 98th year of life. Cleo was born in St. Paul, Arkansas on May 13, 1913 and had resided in the Tri-Cities for some 65 years. Cleo was a loving and caring wife, mother, grand-mother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She worked at Hanford for several years in various positions, the last 18 as a group leader in micro-filming. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, George, a grandson Mark, five brothers and one sister. She is survived by a son Bill Bretz Meredith of Finley and a daughter Glynnda Duntley Ron of Fallon, Nevada, a sister, Marie, in Mississippi and a sister, Pauline, in Oklahoma and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She also leaves many friends both here and around the western states. Cleo was a wonderful homemaker excelling in cooking, crocheting and sewing. Her canned preserves were valued by friends and family. Cleo was also a great fisherman and probably loved fishing more than any of her hobbies. The fish of the great Northwest are a bit safer now. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Gwen Monteney for her dedicated care giving as well as the many ANS caregivers who cared for Cleo for these several years. They also wish to extend sincere thanks to The Chaplaincy Hospice for their gentle and caring touch in Cleo's last days. Also a sincere thanks to Dr. Cole for his care. Services will be held at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home 10th & Union Street in Kennewick on Tuesday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m.
