Obituary

Charles E. Vickery, age 88, of Kennewick, Washington, peacefully went home to be with our Lord, Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Charles was born December 27, 1925, in Ironton, Missouri to Everett and Virgie Vickery. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the Marines in the Pacific on Saipan and after the war in the Air Force Reserve. He was married on November 5, 1948 to Byrdean Hughes. They recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. In 1956 Charles & Byrdean decided to move their family (daughter- Camille) to Pasco, Washington on the advice of his middle brother Bob. They worked together for many years at Bob's Conoco in Pasco. After many happy years of working for the LW Vail Company he retired and spent most of his time traveling and spending time in Joseph, Oregon at Wallowa Lake. He is survived by his wife Byrdean, daughter Camille, sisters Mary Elizabeth Benes of St. Peters, MO, Jenny Lou White of Desloge, MO, Carol Jean (Wally) Rinehart of Spring Hill, FL, and brother Jim (Karen) Vickery of Hot Springs, AR. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews but especially Debra (Pat) Elam and family, Angela (John) Hancock and family, and Bobby (Linda) Vickery and family. He really enjoyed spending time with them and looked forward to the Wednesday lunches out with the boys. Special thanks go to all the wonderful nurses at Columbia Basin Dialysis in Kennewick that made a difficult situation more enjoyable. He loved you all and appreciated the special care that you gave him. Special thanks to the ICU team at Trios for the tender care given to our husband and father. Charles requested that no services be held in his honor. He wanted to be remembered as he was by all his many friends and family.
