Charles J "Chuck" Metully Jr., 82, passed away unexpectedly on April 15. Chuck was born in Butte, Montana to Charles Sr. and Ann Metully on November 1, 1931. He attended schools in Cardwell and Whitehall, where his father worked on the railroad. He graduated from Montana State College (University) in 1954, where he met and married his wife and best friend of 60 years, Susie (Sue) Schneekloth. Upon graduation, he was commissioned into the US Army as a Second Lieutenant, and after training in Fort Benning Georgia, was stationed at Ladd AFB in Fairbanks, Alaska. After his tour, Chuck and Sue returned to Montana where Chuck began his civilian career with Farmers Home Administration, while continuing to serve in the Army Reserve. Chuck and Sue settled in Kennewick in 1962, where Chuck advanced his career, becoming an agricultural loan officer for National Bank of Commerce (now Key Bank). Chuck's understanding of farming, finances and business management made him a valued advisor to his clients, many of whom became lifelong friends. Choosing to retire early, Chuck spent his time building a family vacation home at Priest Lake Idaho. His interest in carpentry led to a passion for woodworking, and he created beautiful and unique furniture for family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing with friends at Canyon Lakes Golf Course. Chuck's devotion to his family was exemplified by his many years of coaching Little League, leading a Cub Scout troop and cheering for his kids and grandkids at sporting events. He is survived by his wife, Sue, his sister, Kay Ingrando, his children, Ken (Nancy), Keith, Karan Moore (Tom), grandchildren Matt (Tara), and Lauren, shared grandchildren Alison and Sean and great-granddaughter MaKenzie. Chuck will long be remembered for his sense of humor and his ability to fix anything. His grandkids and nieces and nephews will miss his long phone conversations. We will all miss Chuck, especially when we visit Priest Lake. Memorial donations may be made to: Kennewick National Youth Baseball League, P.O. Funeral services will be held at Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home, 1401 South Union, Kennewick, WA at 11am Monday, April 21, followed by interment at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
