Charles Loosveldt's sojourn through this life began August 24, 1930 and ended in the early dawn of November 8,2022 when his soul left the bondage of his physical body and entered the light of Jesus' presence-reunited with the love of his life, Sharon.

Charles' sojourn through this life was an eventful one-positively impacting so many people. Charles grew up in Milton Freewater, Oregon with his parents Raymond and Nadene Loosveldt and younger brother, Raymond Junior (Bud). It was here that Charles cultivated a strong work ethic spending long hours working for his dad, Raymond, plumbing many households and businesses around the Milton- Freewater area. Dad's deep Catholic faith-that would be his compass as he navigated through the opportunities and challenges that life presented him-was fostered by his mom and dad and later nurtured by the nuns at Saint Francis and later at DeSales High School in Walla Walla, Washington.

Dad loved music and learned to play the clarinet and saxophone. During his high school years, he played in a band that performed at Grange Halls throughout Walla Walla and Milton Freewater.

After Graduating from DeSales in 1948, Dad attended Saint Martin's University in Lacy, Washington and later enlisted in the Navy where he served on The Navel Aircraft Carrier, USS Corregidor. Throughout his life, Dad would reminiscence about his time spent on the USS Corregidor and proud of his service to our great country.

After Dad's Honorable Discharge from the Navy, he started working at a canning company in Walla Walla when he saw a dark-eyed beauty working the weighing station at the canning company. He found out her name was Sharon Nibler and was smitten with her. He spent so much time at the weigh station trying to woo Sharon that he got in trouble with his boss. However, that didn't discourage Dad, he left roses on the windshield of her car and stirred up the courage to ask her on a date. His persistence paid off, and she said, "yes." Chuck and Sharon were married on July 20, 1957.  And so began an epic love that lasted 60 years, until Sharon's passing in December 2017.

Chuck and Sharon were blessed with three children: Mark, Brad and Lisa; they were the most amazing and loving parents we could ask for. They provided us with an abundance of love and support and left us a legacy of Faith, Family and Love.

Dad began his career in the food processing industry with Libby's. In 1972, Dad was responsible for bringing Pride Pack Foods to Richland, WA. Dad also managed the facility for a year before moving on to other business ventures in the Tri-Cities that included Desert Sun Beer Distributing, Central Vending and the Carmelcorn Shop located at the Columbia Center Mall. Dad operated all his business ventures with integrity. As a result, he had a positive impact on many lives.

Mom and Dad's grandchildren-Ryan, Nicole and Rachel-were the center of their life. Countless summer evenings were spent in the family pool. Dad playing the "Great White Shark" and the grandkids trying to escape his grasp-laughter filled the warm summer air. As the grandkids got older, and branched out into organized sports, Mom and Dad were their biggest fans! Seldom did they miss a game.

Charles is preceded in death by Sharon Loosveldt (wife) ; Raymond and Nadine Loosveldt (parents); Ray Loosveldt Jr. (brother). Charles is survived by his children, Mark (Sandy) Loosveldt, Brad (Sylvia) Loosveldt, Lisa (Greg) Stoetzel, as well as grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Loosveldt, Nicole (Alfred) Loosveldt, Rachel (Sal) Loosveldt and six great grandchildren.

The Loosveldt Family would like to thank the caregivers at Columbia Crossing and Home Instead, especially, Lorena, Marla and Mike for their compassionate care. And Stephanie, at Denny's in Kennewick who always made sure we had a booth saved for us every Sunday and Dad's favorite dish, French Toast, swimming in syrup.

The recitation of the Rosary will be Friday, November 18 at noon at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Kennewick, WA.  The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 with a reception following in Dillion Hall.
