Charles Arthur Cravens passed away May 18, 2008, in Richland, Washington. A long time resident of the Tri-City area, he and his wife Pamela owned and operated Cravens and Associates. With his colleague Brooke Haeberle, Cravens took pride in helping clients plan for and enjoy their retirement. The software he developed, the Retirement Analyzer, is utilized by credit unions and financial planning institutions nationwide. Chuck was born in Los Angeles, California, to Charles McFarland and Alyce Hintze McFarland. His mother later remarried and her second husband, Vernon Cravens, adopted him at the age of twelve. He was proud to serve in the army, and taught middle and high school before becoming involved in the financial services industry. He was a coach for each of his children's softball teams, a tireless supporter in the bleachers at horse shows and rodeos, and always a thoughtful listener or counselor to family and friends in need. A fan of movies and Jazz music, Cravens was an accomplished trumpet player and produced his own album. His family will remember him for his devotion, patience, kindness, and unconditional love. Cravens is survived by his loving wife Pamela, and children Joy Roman, Kim Denson, Scott Cravens, Kathleen Olson, Angela Day, and grandchildren Joshua and Jacob Hill, Tasha Denson, Cy and Canon Cravens, Jentri and Jesse Olson. According to his wishes, a simple graveside service for family members will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2008.
