Cecil C. Waits Jr. "Pete Waits" January 1941 – July 2023

It is with great sadness that the family of Cecil "Pete" Waits Jr. from Benton City WA announce his

passing on Saturday July 15, 2023, at the age of 82 years.

A beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend to many.

He will be missed by many including his son Phillip (Donna) Waits, grandchildren Bobby (Cheyenne)

Alton, and Desiree Waits along with his sisters Norma Griggs, Connie Halsey and many other family

members as well as dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Lattie and three brothers Thomas, Richard, and

Edward.

He was married for many years to Georgie Eckley. He worked many years in the heavy construction

industry with the International Union of Operating Engineers as an operator and supervisor traveling for

many projects across the nation including Hawaii and Alaska. Moving his family with him from place to

place he touches many lives. He also enjoyed a few years traveling to Arizona in the winter, hiking, and

spending time outdoors as well as being with family and friends. He enjoyed building things or

engineering things. In the past several years he loved spending time helping around the house and with

the garden or chickens. He was a wealth of information and always willing to lend a hand to those that

inquired. He was loved by many.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday July 25th at 10:00am at the Evergreen Cemetery located in

Benton City, WA.
