Carmen Lozano

December 10, 1932 – July 14, 2023

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Carmen Lozano went to be with our Lord on July 14, 2023. Carmen grew up in south Texas to a large family with nine siblings. Her father was a laborer and her mother a homemaker. In her early twenties she moved to Washington State where she married her love of her life, Ramon Lozano on August 25, 1958, in Wapato, WA. She was the loving mother of eleven children, to whom she gave all her heart to raise to be kind and giving.

She enjoyed gardening, adored flowers, and enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows including telenovelas, and afternoon Soap operas. She favored the yellow rose of Texas along with the Peace Rose, and the Pasadena Rose. At her home she had two large vegetable gardens that were tended to every season.

Carmen was a fan of the Houston Texans NFL football team and fashioned their t-shirt with pride.

She always had the ability to conquer being both a full-time mother and work part-time clerk alongside her spouse, Ramon at the Mabton Liquor Store for many years. Family was her first passion. She was our first teacher of life lessons. From teaching us the Spanglish language, how to garden, teaching us to be domestic goddesses, and how to laugh and cry to life's many lessons. She even taught us how to argue effectively. She taught us how to sow seeds and grow everything under the sun. She also showed us how to make our ethnic specialties from homemade flour tortillas and tamales so that they may be passed down to our next generation.

She is survived by her eleven children; Elizabeth Horn and husband, Samuel of Kennewick, WA; Christela Lozano of Kennewick, WA; Hector Lozano and wife, Prudencia of Killeen, TX; Martha DeLeon and husband, Ricardo of Grandview, WA; Ramon Lozano, Jr. and wife, Deborah of Kennewick, WA; Martin Lozano of Portland, OR; Barbara Rodriguez and husband, Roberto of Kennewick, WA; Roberto Lozano of Kennewick, WA; Maria Lydia Wyman and husband, Phillip of Edmonds, WA; Jesus David Lozano and wife Adriana of Kennewick, WA and Teresa Adelina Beeman and husband, Casey of Spokane, WA.

She was a grandmother and great-grandmother of many and liked spoiling them whenever she could. She always provided love and support for her family.

Carmen will be deeply missed, by all her family, and friends. We felt the sweetest love from her and were honored to have her as our mom.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Lozano.

Viewing will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller's Tri Cities Funeral Home, 1401 South Union Street, Kennewick, WA.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Southridge Church, 3315 S. Sherman Street, Kennewick, WA. Burial immediately to follow at the Mabton Cemetery, 881 Vance Road, Mabton, WA 98935 (around 11:00 am).

Reception 1:00 p.m. at Southridge Church.

Our family appreciates the many kind expressions of love and concern for our mother during her care. Our sincere thanks for everyone's kind words and support during this time of bereavement.
