Carla Jane Faust, 78 passed away peacefully at home in Pasco, Washington on December 28th, 2024 after a battle with cancer. Carla was a lady of great wit and had a compassionate heart, she will be missed.

Carla was born December 9, 1946 in Leadville, Colorado to Anthony and Jane Yelenc. The family moved to Kennewick, Washington when she was a young girl. She graduated from Kennewick High School in 1965.

Carla worked for the Kennewick School District and retired in the mid 2000's where she spent most of her career working with middle school and high school age students. Carla spent her entire life studying martial arts and self-defense. She received 7 Black Belts in various styles of karate. She stated that it gave her empowerment through confidence, physical and mental fitness, physical capability to defend herself, and send a strong message that women are not victims. Her love of the art, led her to making self-defense videos and teaching to all that wanted to learn. Carla enjoyed playing golf and making new friends in her women's league. She loved to fill her time with friends and family and always looked forward to her luncheons.

Carla is survived by significant other Gary Faust, son; Dan and wife Sheri Klepper, granddaughters; Caitlin (Joel), Chelsey (Shawn), Jessica (Derek), Rachel (Channing) and Sophia, great-grandchildren; Ella, Addisyn, Zeplyn and Evelyn.
