Carl (Bud) O. Shaefer entered into Heaven on Nov. 28,2016. He passed away at home after an extended hospital stay in the ICU. He was blessed to see many of his family members before he left. He is no longer struggling to breathe. He accepted Christ as his savior at a Cowboy church years ago.Carl was born Feb.12, 1939 to Carl F. and Willema Teel Schaefer in Grand Coulee, WA. He married Carolyn M. Lee in 1958 and they had a wonderful life raising 3 beloved sons- teaching them strong work ethics, enjoying their horses, rodeo, hunting and fishing-- so many things he learned from his dad, Carl. He loved all his sons, their wives and grandchildren so much. He would always recite a cowboy poem or joke. He loved to challenge them with a puzzle or beat them at checkers, or just listen to their stories.His family was always first. He was a proud Ironworker of Local 14. Bud worked on many bridges, dams, missile bases and at Hanford. he was a cowboy most his life and as a child he rode a horse to school through the 8th grade- hunting jackrabbits on the way home. He served in the Army as a MP. He leaves behind his wife, friend and partner of 58 years Carolyn, sons David (Kathy), Gary ( Sharon), and Dale (Wendy). Grandchildren: Rachel, Andrea (David) Wesche, Whitney, Chad, Tucker, and Sammy Jo and lapdog Pixie. Also nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by 3 month old grandson, Cody Carl Schaefer ( Dales), his mother, father, 2 sisters Nancy & Jeanne. A heart of Gold stopped beating, two willing tired hands at rest, your love will always be with me, you have my heart till we are together again, my dearest husband. Again, my love.
