Bruce was born October 5, 1951 in Pasco, WA. To Willard Wayne Britton and Darlene June Haven. He was fourth of five children. Bruce attended Kennewick Schools and graduated from Kennewick High School Class of 1970. He was always proud to be a native Tri-Citian. He worked for 30 years and retired from South Columbia Basin Irrigation District. Everything from temporary canal maintenance to purchasing agent and Facilities maintenance. He also served on the volunteer fire department in Benton County for a number of years. Bruce was married young to Margie Stone and they had three sons. A time after their divorce Bruce married his wife for life, Debie Washburn. Together they raised those boys and added a daughter. They just celebrated 40 years married last November. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, RVing, Labrador Retrievers, Birmingham Roller pigeons, yard sales and was a collector of many things. Bruce has 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis, and son Bryan. He leaves behind wife, Debie, sisters Darla, Barbara and Cindy, sons Neil (Regena) and Kevin (Kori), daughter Emily Elledge (Richy) Grands, Calla, Taylor, Haley, Logan, Melissa and Violet, Great Grands Jayden, Brooklyn, Raylyn, Jordyne, Averie, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved. Bruce spent the past year trying to beat esophageal cancer. Sadly, it was not to be. He passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning February 6, 2025. A celebration of life for family and friends will be February 21, 2025 from 11:00-2:00 at Life Tributes 314 W. 1st in Kennewick.
