In Loving Memory: Brady Lee Layman III

February 8, 1945 – April 12, 2026

Brady Lee Layman III, 81, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. Born on February 8, 1945, Brady lived a life marked by curiosity, service, and a deep connection to his community. Throughout his life, humor had a constant presence, and not a day went by without laughter around him.

He attended the University of Washington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications—a foundation that supported a lifelong passion for media and storytelling. Brady worked as a DJ, sharing music and conversation with countless listeners over the years. He later served as a media coordinator for the Benton Franklin Humane Society, helping to promote compassion and care for animals in need. Brady also worked as a coach operator for Benton Franklin Transit in the Tri-Cities, Washington, where he was known for his reliability and friendly presence.

Beyond his professional life, he was dedicated to giving back through volunteer work. He generously contributed his time to the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library and the Pasco Aviation Museum, supporting access to knowledge and preserving history for others to enjoy. He enjoyed many hobbies and had many interests, such as sharing music from his at-home studio, working on wood working projects with the family. He loved hydroplanes and spending time with friends and family during the Water Follies. He was a lover of all things aviation and spent a lot of time learning about airplanes and gliders and how they served war efforts.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Eileen, and father, Brady Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret (Peggy); his two brothers, Lloyd and Richard; his three children, Brady IV, Kelli, and Melissa; and his grandchildren, Doris, Orien, Jenna, and Evangeline.

Brady will be remembered for his warm spirit, his dedication to service, and the joy and laughter he brought into the lives of those around him. He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
