Billy Wayne Davis

Our beloved Billy Wayne Davis peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Billy, the eldest of nine children, was born in Oakland, California, on April 16, 1945, to Godfrey and Marie Davis. The family moved to Pasco, Washington, where Billy attended Pasco schools and later earned an Associate of Arts degree.

Billy was a man of many talents — intelligent, well-read, and known for his love of the news. Over the years, he worked as a skilled carpenter, draftsman, and asbestos remover.

He and Frankie shared a lifelong bond, beginning in their early twenties. Though life took them on different paths for a time, they reunited and married in 1998, renewing their vows in 2010. Billy's deep love for his family was evident in all he did. He had a special relationship with his siblings, nieces and nephews and was regarded as "OG" big brother, sometimes Dad, and uncle. Together, he and Frankie lovingly cared for their adopted children, nieces, and nephews.

Billy was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church but later joined New Beginning Christian Community Church. He loved the Lord, cherished reading his Bible, and shared a special bond with Pastor Dave Houf and Deacons Al Espericueta, Wayne Sparks, and Juan Garza. His warm smile, quick wit, and sense of humor impacted the lives of all who knew him — even during his illness.

Billy's life was a testament of God's goodness and faithfulness. He stood tall — not just in physical strength, but in spiritual strength, trusting in the Lord through every trial. All that knew him said he had "nine plus lives," but we know it was the grace and mercy of God that sustained him.

He had many passions. He loved sports, both as a player and as a referee and umpire for football, basketball, and baseball. He enjoyed trips to Northern Quest Casino; road trips with Frankie, Pastor Dave, and Sister Mary; and watching Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and The Rifleman. He was famous for his pancakes and pinto beans — especially loved by his grandchildren. Known for his legendary sweet tooth, he could eat sweets all day and never gain a pound. And everyone knew he was a die-hard Raiders fan. As Billy proudly declared, "I was born a Raider and will always be a Raider."

Billy was preceded in death by his parents - Godfrey Sr., and Marie Davis; brothers – Godfrey Davis, Jr., and Terry Davis; sister – Barbara Davis, and grandson – Darcy Calhoun, Jr. Billy leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Frankie Hurley-Davis; sons — Tony (April) Willingham (Atlanta, Georgia), Darcy Calhoun (Tacoma, WA), Parish Calhoun (Kennewick, WA), Tony Calhoun (Richland, WA), and Jamie Johnson (Atlanta, GA); adopted children — Lonea Hurley (Kennewick, WA), Lonnie Hurley (Seattle, WA), Orlando J. Hurley (Pasco, WA); sisters — Betty Davis (Dermott, AR), Sherry Davis and Shirley Anne Davis (Seattle, WA); brothers — Jerry (Pam) Davis, Dennis (Patricia) Davis (Seattle, WA), and Daniel Davis (Pasco, WA) and Aunt Queen (Marvin) Edwards (Bakersfield, CA); God-daughters — Cecilia Randolph (Pasco, WA), and Cynthia Brady (Bremerton, WA); thirty grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He also leaves behind special longtime friends Gibson and Joe Henderson, Robert Orange, Isadore and Thomas Andrews, Henry Grisby, Aubrey Lee Johnson, Freddie Wallace, C. W. Brown, and Lewis and Richard Jimerson.

Billy, your heart was as big as the world. Your humor, love for life, and giving spirit left a mark on all who knew you. We thank God for the gift of your life. You will be deeply missed!
