Billie Jo Boyd departed from this life May 28, 2011 knowing she was greatly loved by her Lord and family. She was born December 16, 1937 in Spokane, Washington. She was the daughter of William and Clara Cummins. After moving to Seattle, the family moved to Kennewick in the 1940s. Billie graduated from Kennewick High School in 1957. Billie married Ellis Boyd in 1958 and had four children: Kathy, Alesia, Jeffery, and Jayson. She was a housewife but worked occasionally in canneries to provide extra income for the family. After her divorce, she worked at Lamb Weston full-time. After her retirement she did volunteer work as a Senior Companion transporting seniors to doctor appointments etc. She was also involved with singing with seniors from the local senior center. They performed at various nursing and retirement homes in the Tri-Cities. Billie's health declined preventing her from working in the Senior Companion program or singing with the seniors. However she was always fond of singing. The one trait that Billie will always be remembered for was her generosity and love for her children and grandchildren. She was often told she was generous to a fault. Billie is preceded in death by her father, mother, and two sisters. She is survived by her four children and eight grandchildren. Memorials can be given to the Senior Companion Program and Meals on Wheels. A gathering for friends and family will be held at 3304 Chardonnay Drive in Pasco on June 4th from 12:00 to 2:00.
